A planning application has been submitted for a new Korean street food restaurant in Letchworth.

The plans, proposed by Mr Yong Sung Kwon, would see the restaurant replace the closed down LunchMate sandwich bar at 2 The Colonnade in Station Place.

The application has revealed that the business would be named Go Go Bab, and would be fitted with "Korean inspired" features, while also respecting The Platform pub next door.

"The proposed change to the banner and design will improve the existing context of the site and respects the exterior colour scheme to The Platform pub in which the banner is shared with," the application reads.

"The design of the banner to the side of the property will introduce a lighter coloured banner to create an attractive exterior and matching the white walls of the property.

"The interior style will match the exterior proposed banners, and will introduce a natural wood toned interior to keep the design minimal yet attractive. Traditional Korean inspired blinds will be fitted to the interior side of the windows to practically introduce a new cultural theme matching the business.

"We believe the proposed design will provide a modern yet culturally attractive look to the entrance of the commercial district."

Companies House shows Go Go Bab was set up as a business by Mr Yong Sung Kwon in April this year.
