A pre-school in Letchworth has been rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, following a recent inspection.
In a glowing report, Ofsted says staff at the Early Bird Pre-School in West View "have very high expectations of children, whose behaviour is exemplary".
The report says: "Children are at the heart of this unique and inspirational setting.
"Leaders and staff create a captivating and fascinating environment that ignites children's curiosity and sense of discovery."
The education watchdog also noted how "leaders have created an ambitious curriculum that is extremely well sequenced".
Meanwhile, the "staff are incredibly warm and supportive, staff are exemplary role models and have caring relationships with all children".
The report says: "Staff value early intervention and ensure that children make rapid progress right from the start. They complete regular observations, assessments and next steps in children's learning that are shared with the parents."
Ofsted found that "leadership across the setting is inspirational", with "leaders creating a supportive and positive culture for all staff. Their continuous commitment to ensuring all children receive the best start to their early education is embraced by all staff with passion and dedication."
Natasha Elliott, director - setting manager of Early Birds, said: "We are extremely proud of the outcome from our inspection.
"Our priority has always been for every child who attends Early Birds to be happy, safe, included and to reach their full potential, so we are delighted this was recognised during our inspection.
"Our passionate and dedicated team were confident in showcasing everything they do for all the children. During our feedback, the inspector commented ‘that the unique thing about Early Birds is how we adapt so naturally and embrace what the children are doing by following their lead. The children are happy and content, which is a reflection on our consistent approach.’
"Personally, I am very grateful to the team. They go above and beyond for the children and are always introducing new stimulating play and learning experiences into the setting.
"I was also blown away by the support from our families, and thankful for all the lovely things they said to our inspector.
"We are excited to start a new journey in welcoming children aged one to two to Early Birds. The new room called ‘The Nest’ is open now."
Last week, the Government announced that single headline grades for schools will be scrapped with immediate effect "to boost school standards and increase transparency for parents".
For inspections this academic year, parents will see four grades across the existing sub-categories: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
