A road in Hitchin town centre is set to close later this month to allow drainage investigation works to take place.
Bridge Street will be closed between 9pm and 5am from Monday, September 23 to Saturday, September 28, with Hertfordshire County Council looking into the cause of flooding on the road.
"These works form part of Hertfordshire County Council's ongoing commitment to maintain and improve the road network in Hertfordshire," read a letter to nearby residents seen by the Comet.
"We will be conducting drainage investigation works to mitigate the cause of reported surface water flooding.
"Findings from these works will be used to determine what future actions that may need to be taken.
"To create a safe environment for the workforce and members of the public alike, the works will continue to be completed under temporary road closure.
"These works are weather dependent and may be postponed if poor weather is forecast."
