Police were spotted in Shefford last night in connection with a "suspected immigration offence".
Bedfordshire Police were called at approximately 8.50pm yesterday (Tuesday) after receiving reports of a suspected immigration offence on the A507 in Shefford.
It is believed that one person exited a lorry somewhere on the road before fleeing the scene.
The police immediately deployed a number of resources to the incident, including a police helicopter, but no-one was located.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote reference 407 of 10 September.
