A loving couple who have lived in Stevenage since 1964 have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family.
Jan and Terry Radford were married at St Mary's Church in Tottenham on September 19, 1964, and moved to Stevenage that same year.
They were offered a council house in Raleigh Crescent, as part of the new town's housing scheme, and Terry began working at Bowaters in Hitchin.
Terry, now 87, then went on to work at both Taylors Instruments and BAE for many years.
Jan, now 83, also worked at BAE for over 20 years, but took early retirement in 1991 after being made redundant.
They have two children, Corrine and Steve, and four grandchildren.
Daughter-in-law Angela said: "Terry and Jan are well loved throughout the area and have made many lifelong friends over the past 60 years.
"We celebrated with a family meal at Lavish at the weekend, and have a further event planned in October for extended family and friends.
"They also received a congratulations telegram from the King and Queen Consort to mark this special occasion, which they were both thrilled to receive.
"They said the secret to their lifelong happy relationship is lots of home cooking, endless cups of tea and, of course, laughter and love."
