Two drivers have been hospitalised following a crash in a North Herts village this morning.
A black Nissan Qashqai and a red Volskwagen Golf collided on Bedford Road, Ickleford, at around 9.50am.
One driver trapped before being released by Herts Fire and Rescue services, and both motorists have been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The road is currently blocked, with police asking motorists to find an alternative route due to building traffic.
Traffic is moving very slowly for over just under a mile on the A600 Bedford Road around the site of the crash.
According to police, recovery has been arranged for both vehicles.
Mark Barber, Assistant Chief Fire Officer, said: “Our firefighters worked closely with the ambulance service to safely release a person who was trapped in their vehicle following a collision on Bedford Road, Ickleford this morning.
"This joint response from the emergency services helps us respond to incidents effectively and to provide the best possible care for people affected.”
