Charles Dickens' festive classic A Christmas Carol will return to Wakelin & Son coffee shop in Hitchin this year.
Following the tradition of Dickens' own one-man performances - which began in 1853 - Mat Jones will offer a "dynamic and immersive" interpretation of the story, reading from the same abridged version of the text which Dickens used himself.
In the self-directed show, Mat will embody iconic characters including Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Performances will take place in the "cosy and intimate setting" of Wakelin & Son in Market Place on December 4, 5 and 6 at 7.30pm, with doors open from 7pm.
Mat will also perform at David's Bookshop in Letchworth on December 3 and December 10.
Tickets are available from www.vintageverse.co.uk.

Mat, who has been performing the show for the past 10 years, said: "A Christmas Carol is not just a story; it’s a celebration of the human spirit and the power of kindness.
"This show aims to honour Dickens’ original work while delivering an experience that feels alive and personal.
"This is a performance that will resonate with both those familiar with the story and newcomers alike."
