Stevenage MP Kevin Bonavia has described the suspected arsons which set a number of vehicles ablaze this morning (October 8) as "a horrific crime".
From around 1.20am, vehicles in Vardon Road, Lonsdale Road, Jessop Road and Canterbury Way were set on fire.
Fire crews rushed to the scene and put the blazes out, with police confirming the incidents are being treated as suspected arsons.
Mr Bonavia has described the incident as "horrific", but urged Stevenage residents to "stay calm".
"This is a horrific crime, and I really feel for those families waking up today in shock - especially those whose vehicles have been targeted," he told The Comet.
