Two men have been arrested on suspicion of theft after their vehicle was seized in Hitchin yesterday.
Officers from North Herts Police Intervention/Response Team 3, supported by colleagues from Stevenage Police, sighted a Mercedes van "acting suspiciously" in Hitchin in the early hours of Thursday, October 10.
Further checks revealed the van was suspected to be involved in several thefts from around the county.
Two males were arrested on suspicion of theft offences and the vehicle was seized as being used in crime.
This was the fourth vehicle seized by Team 3 Response overnight, with three others also seized in the early hours under Section 165a of the Road Traffic Act 1988 for driving without valid insurance or otherwise in accordance with a licence.
