A social media star is coming to Stevenage next week, known for his phenomenal jacket potatoes.

Spudman - also known as Ben Newman - has become an international 'mash' hit garnering over 3.7 million TikTok followers with videos of jacket potatoes.

He is now hitting the road with his trailer to tour select Mecca Bingo venues across the UK. A limited number of ‘Jackpot Jack Pots’ will be given away free too.

Ben Newman, aka Spudman, added: “It’s been amazing to see so many people share in the love of a great jack pot, and now, thanks to Mecca Bingo, it’s a chance for everyone to enjoy a taste of something decadent and jackpot worthy - on the house!”  

The second stop on this tour will be Stevenage.

Townsfolk offered mixed reactions to his arrival on Facebook, with some creating a rivalry with Stevenage's own "Mr Spud".

One user said: "It’s amazing what people can go viral and get famous for. The queues for this guy are always insane!"

While another commented: "We have our own Mr spud and would much prefer him !!!!"
