Kane Smith is to return to West Brom next week to resume his trial at the Premier League club.
The full-back has already spent three days training with the Baggies, and next week could feature in a friendly match against Arsenal U21s.
The 19-year-old, who plays for Southern Premier side Hitchin Town, is in demand with a number of Premier League and Football League clubs following his progress.
A spokesman for Hitchin said: “After playing at Bedworth on Tuesday, Kane was taken by a driver to stay in digs ahead of his trial period at West Brom.
“He has trained Wednesday to Friday but will play [for us] at Weymouth on Saturday before returning to West Brom next week when he is due to play against Arsenal for their U21 side.”
Elsewhere at Hitchin, Stuart Pearson did a light training session on Thursday and his progress will be monitored.
In the meantime, the Canaries have signed one-time Leicester City scholar Callum Riley. He was with the Foxes at the same time as fellow Hitchin player Robbie Burns before going to America. He is 24 and plays out wide.
