People often scoff at league tables after just one game of a season but Arlesey Town will be taking proud glances after a big win in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division.
The Blues have brought together some fine individuals through the summer but they have also got them singing from the same hymn sheet after a 5-0 win away to Aylesbury Vale Dynamos.
Noah Mosanya put them in front on 12 minutes before Alex Cathline made it 2-0 five minutes later.
John Freeman then bagged a double with almost identical free-kicks to send Arlesey into the break 4-0 up.
They managed just one more, Isaac Olaleye on 64 minutes, but it still meant a superb opening day.
MK Irish, many people's odds-on favourites to claim the title this year after missing out on both that and promotion last time out, claimed a 3-0 win over FC Romania to sit second while there was a brace of 2-0 successes, Kempston Rovers beating Cockfosters and London Lions winning at home against Potton United.
Colney Heath should have been another but they conceded in the third minute of stoppage time at Dunstable Town.
However, excellent strikes from Jamie Fulton and Kelechi Etienne gave them a 2-1 victory.

There were also a win for Harpenden Town, beating Shefford Town & Campton 3-2 away from home.
They found themselves a goal down at half-time but three of their own between 58 and 67 minutes suddenly put themselves firmly in charge.
Harry Andic got two of them and Archie Locke one and although Shefford pulled one back on 90 minutes, Harps' boss Micky Nathan declared himself "happy overall".
The other winners on day one were Winslow United who beat Baldock Town 2-1 at New Lamb Meadow.
The damage was done in the opening 16 minutes of the first half, the visitors getting both their goals.
Louie Carr halved the deficit on 64 minutes but the Reds couldn't find an equaliser.
There were also two 1-1 draws in the division, Biggleswade United held at home by Tring Athletic while Wormley Rovers did the same at home to Crawley Green.
AFC Welwyn's first game in Division One ended with a 2-1 win away to Long Buckby.
Kendall Gyamfi put them in front and keeper Ashton Broome-Alexander then saved a penalty.
Buckby did equalise just past the hour but Scott Bridges grabbed the winner moments later for Welwyn.
Letchworth Garden City Eagles' opener ended in a 3-0 loss at Buckingham, London Colney going down by the same score at home to Rothwell Corinthians.
They sit 18th, one pace behind Letchworth, while Welwyn are up in sixth.
Stotfold Res are one of the early front-runners in second, after recording a 5-1 win over Rushden & Higham United.
Charlie Mallett got two while there were one each for Callum Mullins, Codi-Lee Spavins and Robert Wilcock.
