A quartet of women from Letchworth Garden City Bowls Club have walked off with a county title.
Pauline Simmons, Lynn Bailey, Christine Ottaway and Haidee Castle won the North Division of the County Club League.
They defeated St Ippolyts in the morning semi-final and followed it up with a 19-11 win in the final against Stevenage Town.
It completed a fine week for the club who had friendly victories against Three Horseshoes (76-45) and Howard Garden (49-38) as well as a 64-41 success over Knebworth in the Stevenage Mixed League.
Aside from that friendly loss, Howard Garden were beaten 65-36 away to Baldock Town in the SML.
However, the highlight of their week came at the end, when they played their annual charity competition for the Hospice Cup.
This was won by Michelle Carrod and Mick Abery with Paul Donalson and John Carrod taking the runners-up spot.
All proceeds from the day, £100, will be donated to the Letchworth Garden City Hospice.
Another team who had success at county level was Baldock Town.
They won the north area event, beating Riverain in the semi-final and Three Horseshoes in the final, to move into the countywide final.
A friendly at Great Barford was won 47-41 but in the North Herts Ladies League, Baldock lost 26-25 to Stevenage.
