Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace has said he "expects" them to be busy on transfer deadline day.

Speaking in his programme notes ahead of Saturday's home game with Lincoln City, the Boro supremo has said movement could also see a senior player depart on loan.

He said: "For the past week we’ve all been busy as the summer transfer window draws to a close.

"I wouldn’t be surprised if we made a trade or two before it closes as we want to make sure we’ve got the best possible chance of winning games this season, then look again when the window opens next January.

"On the subject of recruitment, we’ve needed to add a few extra players than planned as the summer injuries to Taye Ashby-Hammond (hand), Jamie Reid (leg) and Aaron Pressley (ankle) - in addition to the longer-term injury of Jake Forster Caskey - has meant we’ve had to add extra players.

"Dean Bouzanis joins us on loan from Reading and Eli King also comes on loan from Cardiff. Welcome to both lads.

"And, in order to balance our budget, we expect at least one senior player to go out on a season long loan.

"We are right on the edge of our SCMP limit now but we’re still keen to add quality in the right positions, if we can."

The SCMP, or salary cost management protocol, is the financial fair play rules for all League One and League Two clubs.

The SCMP requirement is where a club’s player-related expenditure shall not exceed 60 per cent of a League One club’s relevant turnover.
