Charlie Goode will not play again in 2024 after suffering a broken fibula in the defeat at Exeter City.
The defender came out of tackle badly and was in visible distress as he limped round the edge of the St James Park pitch.
He later left Devon with a protective boot and on crutches and Stevenage have now confirmed the worse.
A statement from the League One club said: "Stevenage FC regret to announce that Charlie Goode suffered a break to his fibula bone in the Exeter game and joins Dan Sweeney (knee) and Jake Forster Caskey (knee) in being unavailable until the end of the year."
The fibula is the smaller of the two bones that form the shin although it is not load bearing. That work is done by the tibia.
However, Stevenage did say there was better news regarding other long term injuries.
They added: "Aaron Pressley (ankle) is making good progress and expected to return to full time training next month, whilst goalkeeper Taye Ashby-Hammond (hand) is back in training."
Jamie Reid, who was out for three months with a leg injury, has played the last two fixtures.
