Stevenage are a "humble" club according to former manager Steve Evans - but he is braced for a tough clash.

The focus of the press conference prior to Saturday's meeting was mostly on the troubles the Millers find themselves in, just three wins from their opening 13 League One matches.

And Evans acknowledged the need for getting a success quickly, even if the clash will not be as easy as some in South Yorkshire might believe.

"Saturday will be tough," said the former Boro boss. "That team, nine or 10 of the [expected] starting line-up, two are suspended now, that was built over three or four transfer windows.

"That's a well-organised unit, I said it when I left, they will do well. They are a very humble dressing room and a very humble club. They are very humble in what they are trying to achieve so it will be tough.

"I am looking at Stevenage because we have to win a game.

"Our form at the New York has been good, the majority of our performances have been good, but after this we have Cheltenham in the FA Cup and then a derby with Barnsley before the international break.

"That is a wonderful time to get a couple of results before that break and bounce into the top half of the table."
